The Declaration of Independence was signed and it outlined the basic ideals on which this country was founded. Unfortunately, these rights and liberties were not extended to people of color.
So, while the country was free, WE were not.
I won't go too deep because I know people love to tussle about these holidays🌚. But I wouldn't be me if I didn't include some context and a li'l history lesson real quick!Â
